One Seed as a Play
"One Seed" can be performed as a play with children taking on the roles of narrator and seeds. Children can also create “a sound effects department” by using instruments, blocks of sandpaper, xylophone, keyboard sounds for birds and insects and wind, or the children can make the noises themselves such as the whooshing of the wind, or the sound of being weary and tired travelers. Please feel free to present "One Seed" in schools and places of worship and learning, or children’s groups, clubs and organizations anywhere in the world.

New Beginning International Preschool in Japan
Teacher Marcia Haug, at the New Beginning International Preschool in Japan, has been presenting One Seed as a play for the student's graduation. Parents and teachers created the sets and costumes, and the children took on the roles of seeds, plants, and birds and insects, and trees. The play has been presented in English, which the children are learning as their second language. Meanwhile in 2025 parents asked if the story could be published in their own language, Japanese. And so the One Seed book is now available in that language, and on this page, FREE as a PDF.
Thank you Marcia Haug for helping with the translation, and the teachers who also proofed the finished work.
