Words and music by Rosemary Phillips
(Recording coming soon)
He sits by her bed holding her hand
And says, “Dearest Love, I understand,
For you and I must say good-bye
I’m smiling now, but then I’ll cry.
Your time has come to go back Home."
“You’ve given me the best years of my life
I bless the day you said that you would be my wife.
You gave me love right from the start
You showed me life, you warmed my heart.
We’ll meet again where angels roam.”
He finds it hard to watch every day,
As her body wastes away.
He’d rather she stayed, but he knows she must leave
And he knows that he will grieve.
The room fills with light, as Spirit draws near.
They know there is nothing to fear.
She gives him a smile, and opens her eyes
And whispers her final good-byes:
“I’ll see you my dear, on the other side.
I’ll be waiting there, with arms open wide.”
She turns and softly sighs,
Then closes her eyes,
Leaves her body and goes back Home
He sits by her bed holding her hand
And says, “Dearest Love, I understand,
For you and I must say good-bye
I’m crying now as you die,
I’ll miss you so, your love, your light.
We’ll meet again when we re-unite.”
Months went by and he'd confied,
His pain he just couldn't hide.
He smiled and he laughed, but however he tried
He felt lonely deep inside.
His Love sat near holding his hand
And whispered, "My dear, I understand."
He quickly passed, this afternoon,
Now they're dancing round the room;
Together they are one in love.
They are Home in the realms above.
They sit, holding each-other's hands...
