June/July 2003
Dear Readers,
 |
| Maestro Marlin Wolfe |
My goodness how time flies by - from Pacific Contact in early April
to tours of
“One Seed”
through the Kootenays and northern B.C during April, May and June.
Articles written include an interview with Jane
Coop, one of Canada’s leading pianists, Orchid
Ensemble, Golden
Violin, and a delightful interview with
Maestro Marlin Wolfe regarding the
Vancouver Island Symphony’s 2003-2004 season,
“Explore the Sound.”
The “One
Seed”
presentation is growing and evolving and has been receiving
fantastic
reception from all the schools visited so far. One teacher
from Fort Nelson, when writing down what she liked about the presentation
said; “…Rosemary’s calm approach with the children,
involvement of all the children in one way shape or form, variety
of activities, i.e. thinking, talking, singing, responding, etc…
I was very impressed with the presentation. It was very multi-faceted
– seeds, perseverance, flight of seeds, not bowing to what
others think – WOW. Many, many levels to the presentation.
Thank you.”

NEWS NEWS NEWS!!!
“One Seed”
is expanding to include a “Courage
Kit”. While doing presentations I have wanted to
give the readers a reminder of their courage to read out loud in
front of all the other children. What came to mind was a button
with the face of One Seed. While I was getting details on how to
do this a local promotion company found a bookmark that has wildflower
seeds and instructions on how to plant them. So we now have bookmarks
and buttons on order to create a Courage Kit that will include the
One Seed
book, CD, button and bookmark! These will be available
by the end of July.
MORE NEWS!
The web site will be undergoing changes in the next couple of months
and while those changes are happening, I will be diligently getting
the artwork and text ready for the next two books “The Day
the Wind Changed,” and “The Sun and the Moon and the
Stars”. And of course there will be interview
articles with performing artists. Plans are also in the
works for a tour of Vancouver Island Schools for October. And how
about a “Cost of Cheating Death 2”? In the near future
we will be posting the dramatic
responses to the March 10 article
“Cost
of Cheating Death”.
So, have an awesome summer. May your gardens grow beautifully.
