What Quills Quotes & Notes represents

"Quills" represents the writing services I provide as a freelance writer and the many human-interest stories that are posted on this site. "Quotes" is for my books and CDs that have been published. And "Notes" stands for my work as a performing artist, singer, songwriter and storyteller.

How the name Quills Quotes & Notes came about

After yet another life-altering experience and while I was ‘looking for the gift in the problem’ I realized that I had the exciting prospect of finally bringing together all my talents as a writer, interviewer, singer and songwriter? But how? And while living in beautiful rural British Columbia in Canada? How can I share all the great stories I’ve written, and how can I help others tell theirs?

It was a magical moment when the name Quills Quotes and Notes came. I was standing in the shower under the running water and it was like the words were just spoken to me through the shower spray; "Try Quills Quotes & Notes." Then, of course, came the abbreviated version – QQN.

I get excited pretty easily and in this case I got really excited about the letter Q. I just love how the words roll of the tongue – Quills, Quotes & Notes. And there’s something about the letter Q itself that I’m really drawn to, particularly its shape and sound. And then there’s the character "Q" from ‘Star Trek – Next Generation’ who challenges the mind, reason and reality. Try this one for a Q experience: "On a quiet quiescent morning the qualified quick-witted quixotic quidnunc quite quelled and quashed a quaver of excitement on his quest and quaffed his joy as he stood in a quandary, paused, queried and quoted. ‘This is a quirky quizzical quarry, a quality quota of quartz I see before me.’"

QQN is Evolving and Changing

Like life, Quills Quotes & Notes is evolving, particularly since the introduction of "One Seed", the story and song which has now been presented to many schools and audiences. I never thought in my life that I would be doing children’s stories, even though I had been told by a medium twenty years ago that this is something I would be doing, and successfully. I’m slow that’s all.

The QQN web site becomes a "Story Site"

The QQN web site is not only an opportunity for me to promote my writing services, it gives me a chance to share with the world those inspiring human nature stories that so many have enjoyed reading – about famous people they know – or about people they don’t know who have an adventure to share, some words of wisdom, and life experiences that will inspire others.
